Jaco Wong

Jaco Wong, a Hong Kong native, San Francisco based composer and conductor, currently serves as the instrumental music director at Harker Middle School. Wong was the former choral director of Palisades Charter High School and Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church. He holds Master’s degrees in Music Composition and Choral Music from University of Southern California, where he was the recipient of Morten Lauridsen Endowed Scholarship. As a finalist of the American Prize in composition, Wong has composed for the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, C3LA, Hocket piano duo, Lang Lang and the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and among others. As a conductor, he has prepared the Esperanza Azteca Youth Chorus to perform with Placido Domingo and conducted the Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Orchestra. Wong most recently participated at the Monteux Music Festival in New York City and Chorus America Academy in Michigan, conducting Sibelius’ Violin Concerto and selections of Mendelssohn’s Elijah respectively.
