Wei Yang

Wei Yang is a composer/pianist from China. His works have been presented in the U.S., UK, China, Poland, Japan, Finland, Canada, Austria, Germany, France, Mexico, Brazil, and Switzerland. Wei’s past principle teachers have included John Bavicchi, Alla Cohen, and John McDonald. He also participated master classes given by composers such as Brian Ferneyhough, Philippe Manoury, Woflgang Rihm, Mark André, Zygmunt Krauze, Georges Aperghis, and Jukka Tienssu, among others. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Washington, studying acoustic composition with Joël François-Durand, as well acousmatic composition with Joseph Anderson and Richard Karpen at the university’s Center for Digital Arts and Experimental Media.
