Andrés Guadarrama (Mexico City, 1991) is a composer, performer and sound artist. He studied composition and music theory at the Center for Music Research and Studies (CIEM). He is a student of Germán Romero and Samuel Cedillo. His explorations propose to treat sound as a matter capable of recreating the processes that originate living organisms, natural phenomena or complete ecosystems. In his creative work, he investigates and develops devices, interfaces and alternative modes of sound production that explore and generate awareness of the links between oneself (in its various dimensions), others, and natural sound worlds. His music has been performed in Germany, the United States, Switzerland, Japan, Colombia, Spain and Mexico by musicians such as Joseph Houston, UMS ‘n JIP, Eva Zöllner, Taller Sonoro, Boglárka Nagy, Irvine Arditti, Tambuco, among others; and scheduled at festivals such as Donaueschinger Musiktage, NUNC!, Forum Wallis, CCMC Contemporary Music Days and the Manuel Enríquez International Forum of New Music. He represented Mexico in the 63rd International Composers Tribune, with his piece Yugen, which was recommended within the category of under 30 years.
